מטרת המרכז היא לבנות קהילת חוקרים (אקדמית וחוץ אקדמית) שתפעל להתאמה ופיתוח של מודלים של מערכות מורכבות בעולם הקיימות המתאימים למציאות הישראלית. בהמשך לכך, מרכז ארכימדס מקיים שיתוף פעולה הדוק עם משרדי ממשלה בישראל דרך מחקר יישומי משותף ובאמצעות מתן סיוע לתהליכי קבלת החלטות. בנוסף, המרכז מציע מלגות מחקר, בנייה והרחבה של קבוצות מחקר, כנסים ועוד, במטרה ליצור שיתופי פעולה עם קבוצות רלוונטיות שונות. פעילות המרכז כוללת גם גיוס מענקי מחקר נרחבים, רלוונטיות באירופה ובמדינות החברות ב-IIASA. הצטרפו אלינו לקבל עדכונים על ההזדמנויות במרכז.

IIASA Interaction Festival - דיפלומטית מדע ובינה בקבלת החלטות
פרופ' איתי סנד, מנהל מרכז ארכימדס, השתתף בפאנל השני, "From Science to Policy: Pathways for Impact". הפסטיבל התקיים על מנת לדון בשאלה כיצד המדע יכול לתת מענה לאתגרים רבי משמעות המחייבים שיתוף פעולה בינלאומי.

פרופ' רון מילוא מהמחלקה למדעי הצמח והסביבה במכון ויצמן למדע נשא הרצאה שכותרתה "Transforming Food Production for Sustainability: Microbes to Eat CO₂; Humans to Eat Microbes".
סמינר ארכימדס | מדיניות אקלים וחדשנות במשאבים
מרכז ארכימדס מקיים סמינר חודשי במסגרתו מציגים חוקרי וחוקרות המרכז את מחקריהם, המתפרשים על פני תחומים שונים. במפגש השביעי, שיתקיים ב-1 ביוני, תתארח פרופ' רוסלנה רחל פלטניק ותדון במדיניות אקלים וחדשנות במשאבים.
