Since 1977, the IIASA Young Scientists Summer Program (YSSP) has welcomed up to 50 PhD candidates from around the world each summer for three months of intensive research at IIASA in Laxenburg, Austria.
The program is designed for advanced PhD students who are approximately two years away from completing their doctoral degrees and whose research aligns with IIASA’s areas of research.
YSSP participants work closely with IIASA scientists in an international, interdisciplinary research environment. They develop their research with the goal of producing an academic paper and have opportunities to establish and strengthen scientific collaborations through IIASA’s international research network.
The 2027 YSSP will run from June 1 to August 27, 2027, at IIASA’s headquarters in Laxenburg, Austria. Participants will also have the option to continue working on their research papers in September.
Application deadline: January 10, 2027
