Open Position: Acting Head – Social Sciences and Humanities Division

Position Description

The Acting Head will:

• Coordinate professional committees to evaluate research, summarize discussions, and formulate recommendations.

• Review and assess research proposals and assign them to external reviewers for evaluation.

• Participate in national and international conferences, and organize scientific workshops.

• Represent the Ministry in scientific committees, boards, and research institutes.

• Prepare professional assessments for international collaborations, conferences, and researcher exchanges.

• Participate in bilateral committees to review and approve research projects.

• Coordinate R&D and other activities with external entities, including the Planning and Budgeting Committee, the Israel Academy of Sciences, and the Central Bureau of Statistics.

• Compile and update statistical data on R&D and maintain ongoing communication with researchers and research institutes.

• Develop programs to enhance scientific and technological knowledge among children and youth, in collaboration with the Science & Community Division.

• Design initiatives to promote science and technology in peripheral and underrepresented communities.

• Draft calls for proposals and coordinate submissions to authorities and research bodies.

• Support knowledge-intensive industries and academic institutions in Israel.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

• Education: PhD in Social Sciences or Humanities

• Experience: At least 3 years of relevant professional experience

  
  

Position Details:

• Full-time

• Location: Jerusalem Technology Park

• Start: Immediate

• Duration: ~3 months (with possible extension)
