Dr. Mali Nevo is a multidisciplinary sustainability researcher and nature therapy facilitator who developed the ‘Eco-Appreciation Perspective’ (EAP), a therapeutic-pedagogic approach for nature-based welfare. Her work explores ecological consciousness and welfare within socio-ecological systems, examining the profound affinity between human-nature relations on the micro level and systemic resilience and welfare resources on the macro level.

Her research examines dynamics of systemic regeneration and epistemic emergence across various domains, including organizational ecology, new community configurations, socio-ecological healing spaces, nature-based welfare in aging, and eco-epistemic justice, driven by a commitment to the well-being of the ‘extended community of life’. Her current research explores international generative art in the public space as a practice for eco-humanistic relations and promoting peace and resilience.

She implements this approach in the training of health, therapy, education, and welfare teams, drawing inspiration from Korczakian pedagogy. Dr. Nevo initiated the Tel Aviv University Academic Forum for Sustainability Sciences (TAU-FSS) and is the co-editor of the anthology Lishomrah: Sustainable and Ecological Communities in Israel (Resling). She is a lecturer at ‘Ofek – The National Center for Innovation in Resilience, Trauma and Mental Health for Children and Families’ (The Hebrew University of Jerusalem) and at other academic institutions. She holds a PhD from the Coller School of Management and completed her Post-Doctoral research at the Bob Shapell School of Social Work, both at Tel Aviv University.
