In January, IIASA Director General Hans Joachim (John) Schellnhuber visited Israel as part of an effort to deepen scientific cooperation and advance discussions on Israel’s continued membership in IIASA. The visit highlighted the growing role of science diplomacy in connecting research, policy, and international collaboration to support evidence-based decision-making and long-term sustainability.

A new study addresses the threat to global supply chains and Israel’s level of preparedness, against the backdrop of the war and climate change. The study was conducted by Galit Cohen, Prof. Vered Blass, and Dr. Amit Ashkenazy. The IIASA-Archimedes Postdoctoral Program is designed for graduated PhD students wishing to develop skills, experience and expertise in systems analysis, and international and interdisciplinary research.
